Tag Collars

These collars are simple to fit, most are just 2.5cm (1 inch) deep and are available in a variety of trims ranging from fun and funky to sleek and sophisticated.

Tag collars are not recommended as a sighthound's walking-out collar. They are designed to be worn permanently and to attach your dog's ID tag(s) to. With most sighthounds and their graceful, long necks: you don't need to remove their tag collar when you put their martingale or leather collar on for a walk.

There are two types available to purchase from the Erin Shop:

Buckle House/ tag Collar

Buckle tag collars: fitted with a quick release, toughened plastic clip or traditional metal buckle.

Single loop design house/ tag collar

Single loop design: these slip over your hound's head and are simple to fit around your dog's neck.

Fitting instructions for tag collars can be found at the bottom of this page.

Measuring and fitting your hound's tag collar:

Most hound owners prefer that their dog's tag collar is worn quite low on the neck to ensure it doesn't get in the way when putting on their martingale or leather walking-out collar. Therefore, all you need to do is measure where you would like the collar to sit.

With the single loop design tag collars please ensure the label inside is against your dog's neck fur for the correct fitting. These collars will need to be adjusted just once after slipping the dog's collar over their head.
